DR AIRIL’S WEEKLY LECTURE ON FEM

Hi all, I have started (on voluntary basis) a weekly lecture on FEM for my FYP students (11am every Tuesday). I would be discussing about FEM (from scratch) and plan to finish all the topics in our MSNM books in this weekly lectures.

Since I record the lecture, I might as well share it here, not only as database for my students to revisit the lectures but also for MSNM members who are interested to follow and benefit from it, especially undergraduates who like to start their journey in FEM.

DR AIRIL'S WEEKLY LECTURE ON FEM: WEEK 4-PART 2 (INTEGRATION BY PARTS AND NEUMANN BOUNDARY CONDITION)The insistence of integration by parts (IBP) by FEM has baffled many, both in the reasoning as well as in the process. In this video, I have detailed the process and the reason for IBP (I have showed the derivation from scratch). As a byproduct of IBP, I also discussed in great details what does it mean by Neumann boundary condition where few scenarios of support conditions have been discussed to highlight the points.This is WEEK 4 of an online series of lecture I made for my FYP students session 2020/21.
