2 Days Workshop on 2D Finite Element Method

This is a beginner’s workshop on numerical programming of 2D Finite Element Method (FEM) via MATLAB. No prior knowledge on programming and numerical methods is needed. The workshop will be conducted by MSNM fellows who have experiences in numerical programming. At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: (1) understand the basic idea of FEM, (2) solve simple 2D problems numerically using FEM, and (3) develop their own MATLAB program on 2D steady & unsteady heat transfer problems.
