Our Presidents (from 2017)


1st Wren (2017 – 2019)

Dr Airil Yasreen Bin Mohd Yassin obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and PhD in Structural Engineering from the Imperial College London. He previously taught at UTM and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS before joining the Heriot Watt University Malaysia as an Associate Professor. His teaching and research interests revolve around computational mechanics and numerical methods.


2nd Wren (2019 – current)

Dr Ahmad Razin Bin Zainal Abidin is a senior lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees from UTM and PhD in Finite Element Analysis from the Imperial College London. His expertise is in the field of Meshless methods. He is working on various numerical methods including Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) and the potential combination of these methods for more efficient analysis tools for engineering mechanics problems.
